Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1 Casablanca ⇒ Rabat the Capital ⇒ Chefchaouen

Your journey starts on the morning of your tour with a visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca’s largest mosque. You’ll be in awe of its breathtaking architecture and waterfront setting. After that, you will travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to see some of its most well-known sites.

You will see the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a magnificent structure that houses the tombs of the Moroccan king and his two sons, as well as Bab Challah, a historic gate that leads into the royal city. We will proceed to the Oudaya Kasbah, a fortified city with breathtaking views of the Atlantic coast, from there. Following a delightful lunch at a neighborhood eatery, we’ll proceed to Chefchaouen.

You will travel through picturesque small towns en route to this enchanting blue city, pausing to rest and enjoy the scenery. You will have time to explore Chefchaouen’s renowned blue-painted streets and alleys, which are a photographer’s dream come true, if you arrive in the afternoon. You can also enjoy the local food and culture before settling in for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2Chefchaouen ⇒ The Roman ruins of Volubilis ⇒ Fes

After a relaxed morning in Chefchaouen, you’ll have free time to explore the enchanting Blue City at your own pace. Nestled in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is famous for its striking blue-painted streets and buildings, creating a tranquil atmosphere as you wander through its narrow, cobblestone alleys. The city is known for its artisan workshops, where skilled craftsmen create beautiful leather goods and woven textiles. At the heart of the city, you’ll find Outa el Hammam Square, a peaceful spot surrounded by shops and cafes. Here, you can visit the 15th-century kasbah, a fortress showcasing ethnographic and artistic exhibits. Don’t miss the Great Mosque with its distinctive octagonal minaret.

Later, we will drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This well-preserved archaeological site offers a glimpse into Morocco’s rich history, with remarkable mosaics, grand archways, and towering columns that once stood in a thriving Roman city. After exploring the ruins, we will continue our journey to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a charming, traditional riad, ready for the next day’s adventures.

Day 3Guided tour sightseeing Fes

We spend the entire day today touring Fes’s main attractions with a local guide. One of Morocco’s imperial cities, Fes, is the cultural and religious center of the nation in addition to being a historical gem.

The Royal Palace gate, a striking and elaborate entrance to the palace grounds, is where we start our journey. The medieval Medina, a labyrinth of winding lanes and lively streets that stretch back centuries, is the next stop on our itinerary. It is listed by UNESCO. One of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, Bab Boujloud, also known as the Blue Gate, is where we will begin our exploration.

Beginning with the Medrasa Bouanania, a magnificent example of Islamic architecture, and the Najjarine Fountain, a masterwork of wood and tilework, we will tour a number of noteworthy locations within the Medina. After visiting the Tanneries, where you can observe the age-old leather dyeing process, we’ll head to the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest continuously running university.

We will then depart from Medina to explore the culturally and historically rich Mellah, Fes’ Jewish Quarter. The ideal way to cap off the day before heading back to your riad for a peaceful evening is to visit an old fortress that offers a broad perspective of the city and the Medina.

Day 4 Fes ⇒ Ifrane ⇒ Cedars Forest ⇒ Midelt ⇒ Ziz valley ⇒ Merzouga

Following breakfast, we head south, passing through the picturesque town of Imouzzer before arriving in Ifrane. Ifrane is frequently referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine-style architecture, snowfall, and cool climate. We’ll stroll around the town and take in its quaint European-style architecture.

We then drive on to the Cedar Forest, which is home to the well-known Barbary macaques. While strolling through the peaceful forest, you will have the opportunity to feed and observe these playful monkeys up close. We then travel to Midelt, where you will have some free time to unwind and eat lunch.

We continue driving to Merzouga in the afternoon, stopping along the way to take in the stunning panoramic views of the untamed terrain as we pass through the Ziz Valley and the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass.

We reach the Sahara Desert in Merzouga by late afternoon, where you will exchange your car for camels to start your desert journey. We’ll stop atop a tall dune to observe the breathtaking sunset over the desert as you ride through the golden sand dunes.

Day 5Merzouga Sahara ⇒ Rissani ⇒ Erfoud ⇒ Todra Gorges ⇒ Dades Valley

To fully enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the desert dunes, one of the most magical moments in the Sahara, you must rise early. Enjoy a quiet breakfast after that before we set out on our adventure. We leave the desert and head toward Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. The town remains a major trading hub in the region, with a lively souk held three days a week. Take a leisurely stroll through the market, where you’ll find an array of traditional goods and local products.

After visiting Rissani, we drive to Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble. You’ll have the opportunity to visit one of the workshops where artisans craft these ancient fossils into beautiful products. From there, we continue our journey through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, making our way to the spectacular Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these towering red cliffs create a grand canyon that’s a haven for rock climbers. Take time to wander through the gorges and marvel at the dramatic landscape.

Day 6Dades Valley ⇒ Ait Ben Haddou ⇒ Ouarzazate ⇒ High Atlas Mountains ⇒ Marrakech

We continue our journey toward Kalaa Magouna, where we will explore the breathtaking Rose Valley, following a delectable breakfast in your riad. This area is well-known for its yearly Rose Festival, which takes place in May and features a range of rose-related products from locals, including oils, perfumes, and other cosmetics. The experience is colorful and fragrant, providing a window into regional customs.

After that, we travel to Ouarzazate by car through Skoura’s picturesque palm groves. Here, we’ll visit the famous movie studios where blockbuster films have been shot. The area’s dramatic landscapes have made it a popular filming location for many Hollywood productions.

From Ouarzazate, we will make our way to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fortified village is a true marvel, with its impressive architecture and mud-brick structures. The Kasbah has served as a backdrop for several famous movies, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the Game of Thrones TV series.

Day 7 Marrakech ⇒ Casablanca

You will have some free time after breakfast at your riad to begin exploring Morocco’s charming “red city,” Marrakech. We will arrange for you to see the most famous historical and cultural sites, such as the magnificent Bahia Palace, the lush Majorelle Gardens, the tall Koutoubia Minaret, and the elaborate Saadian Tombs. Every location provides a different window into the city’s rich past and stunning architecture.

On the final day of our 7-day tour from Casablanca, the schedule depends on your flight details. If you are flying in the evening, we will have more time to explore additional attractions in Marrakech. However, if you prefer to end the tour in Casablanca, we will take the highway for a direct drive to the city, where the tour will conclude.

The planning of the tour was flawless. We felt as though we were being pampered and cared for. The camp was well furnished, and the room was lovely—elegant yet uncomplicated and considerate of the desert environment. Great dinner and a nice musical performance. Both our tour guide and the camel journey were excellent. The rest of the staff was also
