8 Days Wanderlands Bali

Greetings from Bali! That’s Indonesian for “welcome to Bali.” Your group leader will meet you at the Denpasar airport when you are picked up today, and they will then drive you to our Canggu hotel. 

After checking in, you have the rest of the day to yourself. Thus, you can unwind at the beach, by the fantastic pool, or by exploring Canggu itself. We’ll all gather for a welcome dinner and drinks tonight so you can get to know one another.

It’s time to adjust to Balinese culture now that you know your group. Our first stop will be the magnificent temple of Tanah Lot, which is situated atop striking seaside rock formations. After exploring this beauty, we’ll channel our inner surfer and catch some waves with help from our awesome surf instructors. They’ll have you standing up in no time! We’ll then meet for sunset, with a cold drink in hand, to enjoy the first of many epic sunsets! Then it’s time to experience the famous Canggu nightlife! Let’s go!

Next stop! Paradise! Nusa Lembongan, another name for this island, is the first of many that await our footprints. We’ll explore Dream Beach—which, to be honest, is exactly what the name suggests—after we’ve checked into our gorgeous beachfront lodging! We’ll relax and work on our tans before walking to Devil’s Tears, an awesome tide pool, where we can see the sunset while the waves crash over the rocky coves. Once back at the hotel, we’ll dine on the beachfront and then sit under the stars as we share stories around the warm glow of a beach bonfire. 

On our way to Nusa Penida! Snorkeling around the islands will be our first activity. We’ll visit the well-known Manta Point, weather permitting, to see—you guessed it—manta rays! When we get on land, we’ll go see Pura Goa Giri Putri, a very special and distinctive temple. After squeezing through the secret entrance, we’ll be amazed at the underground network of temples hidden within the caves. Then we’ll go to the famously stunning Atuh and Diamond Beach and finish on Kelingking Beach. Make sure you charge your phones—you’ll be taking a lot of pictures! 

To explore Ubud, Bali’s cultural center, we’ll return there today. Keep in mind “Eat, Pray, Love?” We’re confident you’ll love it here because this is where the love happens! Once we arrive, we’ll have time to enjoy our beautiful accommodation before getting to know the local residents…the monkeys! We’ll meander through the Sacred Monkey Forest, marveling at the ancient temples within, and we’ll be able to get up close and personal with the monkeys. If you’re feeling brave, you can even grab a selfie with them! 

We’ll get a caffeine fix this morning at one of the nearby coffee plantations and discover why their coffee is the priciest in the world. They brew it that way, which may surprise you! Afterwards, it’s Lights. Camera. Swing. Welcome to the home of the famous Bali Swings and picture-perfect rice terraces. We’ll wander through the emerald green, enjoy some lunch and coconut, and spend the afternoon soaking in the scenery from beautiful infinity pools that overlook the terraces.

Back to school is coming, so get your books and pens ready! For a special chance to interact with the kids, we’ll go to a nearby elementary school. There we can play and let them practice their English. Then we’ll cool off with a quick dip in one of Bali’s most famous waterfalls as well as one of our hidden gems. Afterwards, explore the streets and your wallets at the local markets. You’re guaranteed to pick up some presents for friends, family, or even just a treat for yourself. Sadly, it may be the last evening for some, so we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and celebrate the best trip of your life! 

Regretfully, even though the trip is over, you will have lifelong memories! Whatever your next course of action, you can talk to our knowledgeable Group Leaders about any future travel plans you may have or are interested in. They will make your journey home and the rest of your trip fantastic. It wouldn’t be possible without you. Cheers to all the wonderful moments and our Wanderlands family!
