Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Beijing

Transportation to the hotel
Meals: Nothing to eat
Beijing hotel

Our local guide will meet you at the airport with a TCT signboard when you arrive in Beijing, the Chinese capital. After that, our guide will take you to the hotel for check-in. To help you recover from jet lag, you can spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 2Beijing

Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple Heaven, Facial makeup painting in Hutong
Meals: Breakfast, A la carte Chinese lunch
Beijing hotel

We begin our exploration of this city treasure today by visiting Tian’anmen plaza, the largest city center plaza in the world and the site of many significant historical and political events. It serves as a witness to China’s progress. Forbidden City, the largest and most complete antique wooden construction structures in the world, is just a short stroll from Tian’anmen Square. For more than two hours, you will tour the magnificent palace halls and gardens in Forbidden City while discovering the fabled history of the emperors and the way the royal family lived there. The many riches of ancient art on display in the halls will wow you. A la carte lunch is given in a nearby restaurant so that patrons can sample real Chinese cuisine at midday and take a break.

We will visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon, which is currently the biggest building for offering sacrifices to heaven and where the emperors prayed for a prosperous year. You will be astounded by the magnificent old Chinese architecture when you visit the Temple of Heaven. Next, we relocate to a nearby, less commercial Hutong. A little stroll (around 30 minutes) along the real Hutong will provide you with a profound understanding of the way of life of the locals. In order to learn how to do facial makeup for Beijing Opera, we pause to visit a local family.

The tour concludes with a drive back to the hotel. Regarding nighttime activities in Beijing, such as the city’s night shows, please don’t hesitate to speak with your local guide.

Noteworthy:
1. Activities can be planned in addition to facial makeup painting for Beijing Opera. In Hutong: Learn Chinese calligraphy and painting; create traditional crafts like Chinese knots and paper cutting; see a Chinese yo-yo master perform an acrobatic show; and collaborate with a local family to make dumplings and kites.

2. You can explore Hutong by bicycle or richshaw in addition to walking. Please let us know which you prefer. We’ll make it meet your actual demands.

Day 3Beijing

The outside of the Water Cube, Bird Nest, and Mutianyu Great Wall
Meals: A la carte Chinese lunch and breakfast
Beijing hotel

Today is going to be an eventful day. Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby in the morning. One of the most well-known portions of the China Great Wall, the Mutianyu Great Wall, is a must-see location in Beijing that we will visit today. The Mutianyu Great Wall is around two hours’ drive from Beijing’s city. The Mutianyu Great Wall is older than the Badaling portion, having been constructed during the Northern Qi in the middle of the sixth century. (*Our itinerary includes a cable car and slideway at Mutianyu Great Wall.)

An excellent restaurant at the base of Mutianyu offers an à la carte lunch. We will stop for pictures at the Bird Nest and Water Cube, two well-known locations built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, on our way back to Beijing.

The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation. You could inquire for recommendations on Peking Roast Duck Restaurant if you want to sample a local dish this evening.

Noteworthy:
1. You can ride a cable car up and down Mutianyu Great Wall, which is less crowded and commercial, or you can ride a sled down it, which is a fantastic choice in pleasant weather.

2. If you need additional time on the Wall, don’t worry. Just let us know when you reserve this tour, and we’ll set up a picnic for your family.

3. Swimming in the Water Cube is a fantastic way to cool off and enjoy yourself with your cherished kids throughout the summer.

Day 4Xian and Beijing

Summer Place, Xian by high-speed train
Meals: A la carte Chinese lunch and breakfast
Hotel: Located in Xian

Check out of your hotel in the morning and begin your tour of Beijing’s final attractions, including Summer Palace, China’s largest and best-preserved imperial park. Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill are recognized as Summer Palace’s representatives. You could decide to go boating on the park’s lake and take in the stunning view of the royal garden. Admire the incredibly wealthy and esteemed paintings on the hallway’s beams as you stroll along the Long hallway, the longest corridor in the world.

On the way to Beijing West Railway Station for the high-speed train (2nd class seat, approximately 5-5.5 hours) from Beijing to Xi’an, an a la carte lunch will be set up at a nearby restaurant. TCT guides will wait with our signboard at the Xi’an train station exit before transferring you to the hotel for check-in. For the remainder of the time, free at your leisure.

Noteworthy:
Friends from China and outside are always drawn to the enormous pandas at Beijing Zoo. Please let us know if your family wants to see big pandas. We could also set it up for you.

Day 5Xian

Ancient City Wall, Terracotta Warriors, and Pottery Figures
Meals: A la carte Chinese lunch and breakfast
Hotel: Located in Xian

With soldiers, horses, and carts in combat formation, we begin our tour of the ancient city today by traveling to Terracotta Warriors, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the world. For your convenience, a shuttle bus will be set up. You will then have the opportunity to meet a local family and learn how to create a little pottery figurine by hand as a present to take home.

There will be a Chinese lunch set up close to Terracotta Warriors’ picturesque location.

We return to the city in the afternoon to see the Ancient City Wall, one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in China. To go about, you can elect to ride a bicycle on the wall (***Bicycle riding is optional and exempt from our price***). (If the weather is bad, we’ll go to the Bell Tower rather than the city wall.)

Noteworthy:
1. Only youngsters older than ten or higher than 1.4 meters (4.6 feet) are permitted to ride bikes on the ancient city wall. If your youngster is too small to ride a bike, you can use a golf cart or take a leisurely stroll.

Day 6Xian and Shanghai

Fly to Shanghai, Gao’s Courtyard, Muslim Quarter, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Meals: A la carte Chinese lunch and breakfast
Hotel: Shanghai

We drive to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda’s exterior in the morning so you can see the fountain show at North Plaza. After that, stop by Gao’s Courtyard, a great place to see historic homes and learn about the shadow puppetry and paper-cutting traditions of the area. Walk around Muslim Quarter and enjoy your shopping experience. You can also try the different local foods.

We travel to Xian airport for our flight to Shanghai after lunch. At the airport, your Shanghai tour guide will meet you and assist with your hotel transfer.

Day 7Shanghai

Chenghuangmiao Old Street, Yuyuan Garden, the Bund, Shanghai City History Museum, and Oriental Pearl TV Tower
Meals: A la carte Chinese lunch and breakfast
Hotel: Shanghai

We begin our day excursion today at the base of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to visit the Shanghai City History Museum (formerly known as the Shanghai Wax Museum), where you can learn more about Shanghai’s development and history. After that, ride the elevator to the second ball of the TV tower, where you can see Shanghai from above. Continue driving through Lujiazui, Shanghai’s finance and commercial district in Pudong, which is home to numerous skyscrapers. We will be able to see Shanghai’s contemporary skyline.

Admire the lit structures bordering the Huangpu River as you return to the Bund. Situated across from the Huangpu River, the Bund offers views of Shanghai’s iconic Oriental Pearl TV Tower and other tall structures. Savor a regional meal at a restaurant close to the bund.

We proceed to Yuyuan Garden, a traditional Chinese garden located in the city’s downtown, after lunch. After that, keep exploring Shanghai Old thoroughfare and Nanjing Road, which is Shanghai’s oldest commercial thoroughfare. Make plans for the nighttime acrobatic show, particularly the ERA show, which is one of Shanghai’s most well-liked evening events, on the way back to the hotel.

Noteworthy:
At the summit of the Tower, 267 meters above Shanghai’s busy streets, sits the Revolving Restaurant Oriental Pearl Tower. With its stunning views of the city below and all around you, having a buffet lunch at this premier rotating restaurant is an experience unlike any other. Please let us know in advance if you would want to give it a try. We could set it up according to your preferences.

Day 8Shanghai

A day off on your own
Meals: Morning

A theme park (Disneyland Park), two themed hotels (Toy Story Hotel & Shanghai Disneyland Hotel), a dining and shopping complex (Disneytown), and Wishing Star Park are all part of Shanghai Disney Resort. For your reference, taking your family on a day excursion to a Disney resort can be a wonderful leisure option.
