With this cruise-based itinerary, which includes round-trip flights from Cairo, you can see the main attractions of Aswan and Luxor as well as spend time at Kom Ombo and Edfu. You’ll also get three nights on a Nile River cruise boat, with included meals, and the services of a professional Egyptologist guide, as well as the possibility to take a flight on a hot-air balloon, included in the price of the tour.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo Our representative will meet and greet you at the airport. Assistance with check-in will be provided when you are driven to your hotel. Following an informational meeting, you will spend the Hotel in Cairo.

Day 2Cairo – Giza Pyramids – Saqqara Tour With Lunch & Entry fees

Breakfast and pickup for your official introduction to Cairo. Your first day will be inundated in ancient history and starts at the Giza Plateau, where your first impression will be the overwhelming sight of the Great Sphinx. You visit the pyramids of Menkaure, Cheops, and Chefren, dating from approx. 2580-2560BC. Your next stop is the Saqqara Plateau, another UNESCO heritage site, with the impressive step pyramid of Djoser, the first successful attempt at a fully functional pyramid.

Day 3Alexandria – Amphitheater – Pompey's Pillar – Qaitbay Citadel With Lunch & Entry Fees

Alexandria’s City Center (Pass By)You travel to Alexandria, the capital of Ptolemaic Egypt, after breakfast. The journey begins with a visit to the gardens of the historic Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is followed by lunch at a reputable local eatery. Your next stop will be the Roman Amphitheater, which features 13 rows of white European marble in the audience area with Aswan granite columns. A tour of the Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century stronghold near Pharos Island’s harbor, will be the final stop before heading back to Cairo. They’ll take you back to Cairo.

Day 4Museum of Egyptian Antiquities – Citadel – Khan el Khalili With Lunch & entry

The Egyptian Antiquities Museum (Stop by)After breakfast you will start the day with a Cairo City Tour with the first stop at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities featuring treasures from tombs, temples and palaces throughout Egypt from ancient dynasties. In addition to a guided tour, you will have ample time to explore. You will visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque in Islamic Cairo, which is dominated by the Saladin Citadel, an 800-year-old castle and home, after lunch at a decent authentic restaurant.

Day 5Transfer to the Nile Cruise & Aswan Tours

Aswan (Pass By): A licensed tour guide will greet you at the Aswan train station or hotel and help you get to your five-star Nile Cruise by air-conditioned van so you can check in before lunch. Eat lunch on board.
Next, begin your journey by seeing the High Dam, which was built in 1960 to provide electricity and safeguard Egypt from flooding.

Day 6Abu Simbel Temple & Navigation to Kom Ombo Temple

Abu Simbel (Pass By): Your guide will pick you up for the excursion to Abu Simbel (in a small group) at approximately 4:30. Arrive at 8 a.m. to see one of Egypt’s most striking sites: the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, which were constructed for King Ramses II and his adored Queen Nefertari. Return to the Cruise before midday so you can eat lunch and sail to Kom Ombo City.
Visit the dual temples of Horus, the falcon god, and Sobek, the crocodile god, once you arrive at Kom Ombo city. Return to the cruise and have dinner. Sail on to Edfu for the night.

Day 7Edfu Temple & Arrive Luxor (visit Luxor Temple)

Edfu,  After breakfast, take a horse-drawn carriage trip with your tour guide to see the Horus temple in Edfu, which is thought to be the most complete and well-preserved of all the Egyptian temples. Go back to the cruise. While sailing to Luxor, take in the stunning beauty of the Nile River and unwind on deck while admiring the distinctive countryside. Go across Esna Lock. Onboard lunch. Afternoon tea on the sundeck Note: We have the opportunity to explore the Karnak and Luxor Temples if you get at Luxor dock by 3:00 or 3:30 pm.

Day 8Balloon Ride, Luxor Tour & departure transfer

Begin around 5:00 am with pickup for the incredible trip of a 30- to 45-minute hot air balloon flight over the west bank of Luxor and enjoy an aerial view of the country’s landscape and famous landmarks. Enjoy the sunrise illuminating the sky of the open-air museum city (Luxor) over the great temples and mountains below. 

Valley of the Kings (Pass By)

Have breakfast and start your unforgettable day by driving to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs from the New Kingdom carved their tombs in the mountains, aiming to hide their treasure and protect their mummies. Then, to the Mortuary Temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, discover her beautiful temple and her attractive story with her nephew. End your tour in the West Bank by a photo stop in front of the gigantic statues of Memnon. Lunch in a local restaurant (optional) Back to the East Bank to see the largest temple ever, Karnak Temple, built over 2000 years, covering an area of about 63 acres. It has nice pics between its huge pillars and obelisks. Finally, transfer to Luxor Airport to fly to Cairo and overnight in a Cairo hotel.

Day 9Final Departure

After an early breakfast, at around 05:30, you will be brought to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.
