There are several sites that provide a glimpse into China’s past, as well as more recent attractions that highlight modern culture. You will meet your tour leader and other travellers at a welcome meeting at 6 p.m. to start your vacation. Please ask reception where it will be held or check for a note in the hotel lobby.

Please bring your passport, insurance, and next of kin information to the group meeting so we can gather and verify it. Perhaps after the conference, take a stroll around Beijing’s streets. Since your hotel is in the heart of the city, you’ll find lots of amazing surprises along the way. Maybe start your trip to China by sampling Peking duck, a famous meal.

Day 2Beijing

Today, you will take public transport and walk around two of Beijing’s most visited sites. This is the greatest way to really experience the native way of life, despite the fact that it can get crowded. Travel to the city’s heart, Tiananmen Square, which is the symbol of Chinese power. It is a place of pilgrimage for Chinese tourists who view it as the centre of their country. It is framed by the Gate of Heavenly Peace with its portrait of Mao, Mao’s Mausoleum, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum, and intricate flag-raising and lowering procedures at dawn and nightfall. You will enter the massive Forbidden City from this point.

The Forbidden City has remained largely unchanged since it was constructed more than 500 years ago and has been closed to the general public for nearly all of that period. You will be able to witness the majesty and magnificence of the Imperial Chinese court throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties as you explore the magnificent halls and grounds.

Enjoy a free evening to explore or just unwind.

Particular Details

Since Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City are the most popular tourist destinations in the nation, they can get quite crowded with tour groups. Prepare yourself!

Day 3From Beijing to Xi'an

You will go by private bus this morning to the Mutianyu Great Wall (about two hours), where you will explore, snap pictures, and discover the site’s history. Stretching 6000 km west from the Himalayan ridges north of Beijing, the wall is an amazing feat of engineering. It was first built to defend Chinese dynasties from northern nomadic tribes, but despite its failure, it remains one of the nation’s most amazing accomplishments and a famous landmark. Although the majority of the walk is on the reconstructed portion of the wall, it still requires several stairs and steep, uneven terrain, thus appropriate footwear and level fitness are required.Depending on your level of fitness, the about 5-kilometer walk will take two to three hours. You have the option of using a chairlift, cable car or even a beanie to down the wall (at your own cost). Bringing a picnic lunch to eat on the wall during a rest period is a smart idea. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit atop this amazing technical achievement and look out over the breathtaking surrounding countryside. Take a private bus back to Beijing. You will travel to Xi’an by overnight train this evening.

Day 4Xi'an

Around 9 a.m., you will arrive at the Xi’an train station and be given a private transfer to your hotel.

Discover what was once the beginning of the historic Silk Road commercial route by going on a quick walking tour with your guide today. In the city’s lovely Muslim Quarter, you’ll stroll along the winding lanes past stores, bustling marketplaces, and gatherings of white-bearded men wearing skull caps enjoying tea in cafes. See the City Walls and Gates, which encircle the city for more than 13 km (8 miles) and are the most comprehensive in China. Because of its Silk Road past, Xi’an boasts a diverse spectrum of ethnicities, which is reflected in its culinary offerings, which include anything from mouthwatering Muslim food to excellent Chinese restaurants’ tiny dumplings.Perhaps decide to visit the Bell and Drum Towers. The former was constructed (so the story goes) to tame the earthquake-causing dragons, while the latter is, predictably, filled with drums that were originally meant to indicate the time and sound an alarm in case of an emergency. Maybe go to the night markets and sample some of the mouthwatering local specialities, such hand-pulled noodles, barbecue, hot pot, and pao mo (lamb broth into which flatbread is broken).

Day 5Xi'an

We will take a private vehicle today (about two hours) to see the Terracotta Warriors, who are without a doubt one of the world’s man-made wonders. Discover all about this amazing archaeological discovery, which was uncovered in 1976 by farmers during a well excavation after being buried for two millennia. Following his accession to the throne in 264 BC, Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi commissioned these clay statues of warriors, horses, and chariots—all of which were initially painted—to be included in his mausoleum. You can see the three major pits where less than 2000 soldiers stand in battle formation. Each warrior is individually moulded from clay and has a unique clothing, height, and even facial expressions. It’s a very astounding scale.

Take advantage of a free evening to tour Xi’an.

Day 6From Xi'an to Chengdu

After taking a high-speed train from Xi’an to Chengdu in the morning (around three hours), you will check into your hotel before exploring Chengdu. The atmosphere in Chengdu is fairly relaxed. Mahjong and tea are two of the most important aspects of the residents’ lives because they place a higher emphasis on life than work—which is how it should be, isn’t it? Take your leader on a walking tour to Tianfu Square in the downtown area, where a massive statue of Chairman Mao looks out over his people. Proceed to the bustling People’s Park and enjoy a cup of tea in a tea shop while utilising the additional services provided, such as massages and ear cleaning. Why not sample some of the local cuisine? Chengdu was named a gourmet capital by UNESCO in 2010.

Day 7The Chengdu

At Chengdu’s Panda Breeding Centre, come up close and personal with the cute pandas this morning and get ready for the fuzzies. Find out about the conservation initiatives aimed at repopulating this extinct species. In their playgrounds, you will undoubtedly witness them eating, playing, sleeping, or simply being adorable. Spend some additional time relaxing in the afternoon, perhaps exploring the trendy Kuanzhai Lane or going to Jinli Street to find some fiery Chengdu foods.

Day 8From Chengdu to Yangshuo

You will take a quick train from Chengdu to Yangshuo this morning. Once you reach the station, you will be transferred to a hotel in Yangshuo. Yangshuo, which is surrounded by limestone karsts, is a popular tourist destination both domestically and abroad, which is good if you enjoy going to cafés and bars. It’s among the greatest locations in the nation for experiencing local customs and culture while having a great time. When you first arrive, wander around the town with your leader and then descend to the Li River to get a sense of the scenery that has been captured in several Chinese art.

Day 9The Yangshuo

An optional trip down the Li River offers the best views of the picturesque scenery surrounding Yangshuo. Float by rice terraces, water buffaloes drinking at the river’s side, and limestone monoliths. If you’re feeling energetic, consider taking a calm Tai Chi class or riding a bike around the gorgeous green surroundings and neighbouring communities. Before learning to make local specialities in a renovated country house, take a guided tour of the local market.

Day 10Keep exploring and take in Yangshuo's splendour

A master will teach you Kungfu or Chinese Taichi as a morning workout. What is a fantastic optional activity for the day? Discover the secret of the Ancient Stone Village; mountaineer Xianggong hill and observe the Li River meandering; experience sunlight and shadows, clouds, the sea, sunset, and rosy clouds; pick tea leaves, make tea, sip tea, and listen to the rhyme at the Seven Fairies Peak tea estate. You come highly recommended.

Day 11Hong Kong to Yangshuo

Proceed to Hong Kong, your last destination, after leaving Yangshuo. After being driven to Guilin, you will board a high-speed train to Hong Kong West Kowloon High Speed Railway Station, which will take around three and a half hours. From there, you will travel to your hotel, which is conveniently located in the city centre. After taking a walking tour, you might like to see the Victoria Harbour light display or the Temple Street night market. Seize the opportunity to enjoy your last night in this fantastic city with the group.
