City Tours of Amman and Jerash
We start the day with a tour of the capital city of Jordan. The history of Amman is extensive and spans several millennia. Before heading to the 6,000-seat Roman theatre, we will visit the Citadel, which was once the location of the ancient Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the Byzantine Church. Today, the historic theatre continues to host a variety of cultural events.
We leave Amman for Jerash, which is home to some of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture outside of Italy. Archaeological research conducted in the last 70 years has shown that Jerash, which was hidden away from the world beneath centuries of sand, was a superb example of Roman urbanisation, complete with paved and colonnaded avenues, hilltop temples, magnificent theatres, and public squares and plazas. Spend the night in Amman.
Move on to Petra
Take a beautiful trip from Amman to Petra via the King’s Highway, passing through isolated rural communities, deep Wadis, and olive trees. Along the route, you will stop by Kerak Castle, one of a series of Crusader strongholds constructed around Jordan in the 12th century, and the Roman mosaics in Madaba. Spend the night at Petra.

Today, we travel to Petra, the ancient capital of the Nabataeans, which Rome eventually conquered in AD 106. Petrad, which was forgotten until it was rediscovered in 1812 by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt, is located in the rocky Wadi Aruba desert and is reachable by the small Siq gorge. One of Jordan’s most popular tourist spots is this area, where the Nabataeans carved amazing structures into the vibrant sandstone cliffs.
After a two to three hour guided tour, we have time to explore on our own. We approach through the Siq, a slender passageway surrounded by precipitous cliffs, passing by historic waterways. As we emerge, our guide talks about the complexities and spiritual significance of Petra’s construction as the famous Khazneh, or Treasury, comes into view.
Explore colonnaded alleyways, a Roman amphitheatre, and graves outside the Treasury. You can visit the High Place of Sacrifice or ascend to the ‘Monastery,’ which offers breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley and Wadi Aruba desert, in your spare time. This endeavour is very rewarding but physically taxing.
Walking options for the day include long excursions of more than 8 km and a minimum 3km journey through the Siq. For individuals who want assistance, the Siq offers horse-drawn carriages (around 20 JD/USD 28).
We leave for Wadi Rum in the afternoon, where we will be welcomed by Bedouin hosts at a camp surrounded by breathtaking desert scenery. Here, we’ll unwind, eat authentic Jordanian food, and watch the stars at night.
Dead Sea Visit & Wadi Rum 4WD Tour (B)
We begin the day by touring Wadi Rum’s stunning desert and mountain landscape. More of the towering cliffs and strange rock formations will be visible as we go across the stunning desert landscape in a jeep safari. Look for the copper-colored “jebels,” which are the area’s recognisable and captivating rock formations.
The Dead Sea, one of the most breathtaking places on Earth, will be our next stop in the north. At 400 meters below sea level, it is not only the lowest place on Earth but also regarded as one of the most spiritual settings in the world, full with breathtaking natural beauty. For a genuinely remarkable experience, submerge yourself in this rich, dense mixture of minerals and salts.We will return to our Amman hotel to wrap up the day.
