We’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our drive to the stunning Blue City of Chefchaouen. Along the way, we’ll pass through picturesque small towns with stops for breaks to stretch and take in the scenery.
Arriving in Chefchaouen in the late afternoon, you’ll have time to wander through the enchanting blue-painted alleys of the medina, capture beautiful photos, and savor the flavors of local cuisine.
Overnight stay at your hotel in Chefchaouen.
Take your time exploring this beautiful city during your free morning in Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen, a city in northwest Morocco’s Rif Mountains, is well-known for its blue-painted buildings. Explore its quaint cobblestone streets, which are lined with leather and weaving workshops.
The Kasbah, a red-walled fortress from the 15th century that hosts ethnographic and artistic exhibits, is located in the main square of Outa el Hammam. Nearby, the Great Mosque with its striking octagonal minaret is another highlight.
After soaking in the beauty of Chefchaouen, we’ll head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore this well-preserved archaeological site, where you can admire intricate mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s Roman past.
After your visit, we’ll drive to Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad.
We spend the day today touring the main attractions of Fes with an informed local guide. Fes is regarded as the cultural and religious center of Morocco and is one of its imperial cities.
The Royal Palace Gate, a striking entryway to the palace grounds, is where we start our day. You will learn about the fascinating history and lively life of the well-preserved medieval medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), the main entrance to the old medina, will be our first destination. From here, we’ll explore the maze-like network of tiny lanes while admiring the sights and sounds of this historic city. You’ll visit the Medersa Bouanania, a beautiful 14th-century theological school, and the Najjarine Fountain, known for its intricate woodwork and design.
Next, we’ll head to the famous tanneries, where the traditional method of leather production is still practiced. Finally, we’ll visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the oldest continuously operating university in the world, founded in 859 AD.
After exploring the medina, we’ll leave its walls to visit the Jewish quarter (Mellah), a fascinating area rich in history and culture. We’ll end the day with a visit to an ancient fortress, offering a panoramic view of the medina and the city of Fes.
Afterward, we’ll return to your riad for an evening at leisure.
Our first destination will be the Middle Atlas Mountains’ Cedar Forest, where you can take in the lush surroundings and spot the well-known Barbary apes. We’ll stop in Azrou, a Berber village in the center of the cedar forest, after continuing through the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountain ranges.
After that, we’ll head to Midelt for lunch, which is encircled by the stunning Atlas mountains and hills. After that, we’ll proceed through the breathtaking Ziz Gorge and the Tiz Ntalghamt Pass, where, as we get closer to Errachidia, the scenery progressively changes to glimpses of the desert.
As we drive through the Ziz Valley, we’ll stop to take in the stunning panoramic views, passing through Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of traditional mint tea.
From here, we’ll take a camel ride into the Sahara Desert to reach our luxury desert camp, where you’ll spend the night under the stars. If you prefer, you can opt for a ride to the camp by car instead of camels. Your luggage will be transported by car directly to the camp for your convenience.
Get up early to witness what might be the most spectacular sunrise of your life over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. You will be able to witness a truly magical moment as the sun rises over the golden sands. Enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast at the camp afterward.
After breakfast, your driver will take us back to the village of Merzouga. Along the way, you’ll have ample time to appreciate the ever-changing beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes, with the light shifting throughout the morning.
Next, we’ll head towards Rissani, Tinghir, and the Todra Gorges—the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After exploring the gorges, we’ll stop for lunch in the heart of the gorge, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes.
In the afternoon, we’ll drive through the picturesque Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations, including the famous “monkey toes” and towering sandcastles.
You’ll spend the night at a charming guesthouse overlooking the Dades Valley, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and breakfast.
We’ll start our journey through the breathtaking Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate and then Marrakech after breakfast at your lodging. There are numerous chances to take some of the most stunning pictures of your journey along this route, which is referred to as the “Way of the Thousand Kasbahs.”
Our first stop will be Kalaat M’Gouna, the center of Morocco’s Rose Valley. Here, you’ll have the chance to visit a rose cooperative, where you can purchase fragrant rosewater—a wonderful souvenir that will keep your linens smelling fresh long after your trip.
Next, we’ll continue our journey to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic kasbahs in Morocco. Built by Et Hami El Glaoui, a prominent Berber chieftain of the 19th century, this kasbah is still home to many of the Glaoui family descendants.
Our route will take us through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters) in the High Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views. Along the way, we’ll stop to learn about the traditional process of producing Argan oil, a Moroccan treasure, at a Berber women’s cooperative.
Following breakfast at your riad, you and your local guide will start exploring Marrakech, sometimes referred to as the “Red City” of Morocco. You’ll visit the city’s most important historical and cultural sites, including the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, the towering Koutoubia Mosque, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the elegant Bahia Palace.
After lunch at a local restaurant near Djemaa el-Fna Square, you’ll have the chance to wander through the souks, where you can admire hundreds of handcrafted goods, from textiles and pottery to jewelry and leather.
In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. You may want to revisit areas you particularly enjoyed or discover hidden gems in the vibrant city.

An Amazing Tour—A Mind-Expanding Experience!
Morocco was an eye-opening experience, to start. Our combined knowledge prior to our visit consisted of the black-and-white film Casablanca. Our Moroccan tour was simply amazing! From the desert, the cities, the scenery, and the cuisine!
I heartily endorse this tour operator!
It was quite fascinating to explore Morocco and its culture, particularly the Berber culture. Our guide was fantastic, well-informed, and took excellent care of us. Riding a dromedary and spending a night in the desert was a unique experience, and we saw breathtaking scenery from the highlands to the desert. Without a doubt, I would heartily suggest this tour.
I just got back from a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
I just returned from the tour with my wife. For us, the entire tour was incredible, including the large and magnificent mosque in Casablanca, the blue city on the hill, the vibrant Fes and Marrakech, which are rich in culture, history, and shopping in the Medina, the Argan trees, and of course, the Sahara desert in Merzouga, among many other locations, the locals along the driveways, and the landscapes.
