Your journey starts on the morning of your tour with a visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca’s largest mosque. You’ll be in awe of its breathtaking architecture and waterfront setting. Afterward, you’ll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to explore some of its most famous landmarks.
You’ll visit Bab Challah, a historical gate that opens into the royal city, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a magnificent building housing the tombs of the Moroccan king and his two sons. From there, we will continue to the Oudaya Kasbah, a fortified city offering incredible views of the Atlantic coast. After a delightful lunch in a local restaurant, we’ll continue our journey to Chefchaouen.
On the way to this charming blue city, you’ll pass through scenic small towns, stopping to stretch your legs and take in the sights. Arriving in Chefchaouen in the afternoon, you’ll have time to explore the city’s famous blue-painted streets and alleys, a photographer’s paradise. You can also enjoy the local food and culture before settling in for an overnight stay at your hotel.
After a relaxed morning in Chefchaouen, you’ll have free time to explore the enchanting Blue City at your own pace. Nestled in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is famous for its striking blue-painted streets and buildings, creating a tranquil atmosphere as you wander through its narrow, cobblestone alleys. The city is known for its artisan workshops, where skilled craftsmen create beautiful leather goods and woven textiles. At the heart of the city, you’ll find Outa el Hammam Square, a peaceful spot surrounded by shops and cafes. Here, you can visit the 15th-century kasbah, a fortress showcasing ethnographic and artistic exhibits. Don’t miss the Great Mosque with its distinctive octagonal minaret.
Later, we will drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its impressive mosaics, imposing archways, and tall columns that once supported a flourishing Roman city, this well-preserved archaeological site provides a window into Morocco’s rich past. After exploring the ruins, we will continue our journey to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a charming, traditional riad, ready for the next day’s adventures.
We spend the entire day today touring Fes’s main attractions with a local guide. One of Morocco’s imperial cities, Fes, is the cultural and religious center of the nation in addition to being a historical gem.
We start our trip by touring the Royal Palace gate, which is a striking and elaborate entryway to the palace grounds. The medieval Medina, a labyrinth of winding lanes and lively streets that stretch back centuries, is the next stop on our itinerary. It is listed by UNESCO. We’ll begin our tour by going through Bab Boujloud, also known as the Blue Gate, which is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
Beginning with the Medrasa Bouanania, a magnificent example of Islamic architecture, and the Najjarine Fountain, a masterwork of wood and tilework, we will tour a number of noteworthy locations within the Medina. After visiting the Tanneries, where you can observe the age-old leather dyeing process, we’ll head to the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest continuously running university.
Next, we continue our drive to the Cedar Forest, home to the famous Barbary macaques. You’ll have the chance to see these playful monkeys up close and feed them while wandering through the tranquil forest. Afterward, we head to Midelt, where you’ll have some free time for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, we continue our drive to Merzouga, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz Valley, with stops along the way to capture breathtaking panoramic views of the rugged landscape.
By late afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, where you will swap your vehicle for camels to begin your desert adventure. As you ride through the golden sand dunes, we’ll make a stop atop a high dune to watch the stunning sunset over the desert.
To fully enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the desert dunes, one of the most magical moments in the Sahara, you must rise early. Afterward, enjoy a peaceful breakfast before we begin our journey. We leave the desert and head toward Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. The town remains a major trading hub in the region, with a lively souk held three days a week. Take a leisurely stroll through the market, where you’ll find an array of traditional goods and local products.
After visiting Rissani, we drive to Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble. You’ll have the opportunity to visit one of the workshops where artisans craft these ancient fossils into beautiful products. From there, we continue our journey through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, making our way to the spectacular Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these towering red cliffs create a grand canyon that’s a haven for rock climbers. Take time to wander through the gorges and marvel at the dramatic landscape.
We continue our journey toward Kalaa Magouna, where we will explore the breathtaking Rose Valley, following a delectable breakfast in your riad. This region is famous for its annual Rose Festival, held each May, during which locals showcase a variety of rose products, such as perfumes, rose water, oils, and other cosmetics. It’s a fragrant and colorful experience that offers a glimpse into local traditions.
Next, we drive through the scenic palm groves of Skoura, heading towards Ouarzazate. Here, we’ll visit the famous movie studios where blockbuster films have been shot. The area’s dramatic landscapes have made it a popular filming location for many Hollywood productions.
From Ouarzazate, we will make our way to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fortified village is a true marvel, with its impressive architecture and mud-brick structures. The Kasbah has served as a backdrop for several famous movies, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the Game of Thrones TV series.
Following breakfast at your riad, you and your local guide will start exploring Marrakech, sometimes referred to as the “Red City” of Morocco. You’ll visit the city’s most important historical and cultural sites, including the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, the towering Koutoubia Mosque, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the elegant Bahia Palace.
After lunch at a local restaurant near Djemaa el-Fna Square, you’ll have the chance to wander through the souks, where you can admire hundreds of handcrafted goods, from textiles and pottery to jewelry and leather.
In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. You may want to revisit areas you particularly enjoyed or discover hidden gems in the vibrant city.

Afterward, if you have a flight on the same day, we will arrange for your transfer to the airport so you can catch your flight in plenty of time. If you’re planning to stay a bit longer in Essaouira or Casablanca, we will take you to your hotel in Casablanca, where you can relax and enjoy more of the city.
