Siargao Adventure in the Philippines

Touchdown in Cebu, Are you prepared to travel further east? Today marks the start of our eight-day journey! Unwind, unpack, and perhaps even begin your Cebu exploration.

For our first welcoming supper together tonight, everyone will be coming in throughout the day. We are eager to begin what promises to be an incredible eight days.

Well, we’re going! We began the journey by travelling to Bohol, our first undiscovered destination. You’ll never forget your first visit to this special location, even if you’ve never heard of it before.

Early in the afternoon, we’ll board a ferry and reach the hotel. You’ll have sand between your toes in no time because our base in Bohol is just two minutes from the beach! It also has a beautiful pool where you may play mermaid and have the required little swimming party!

We are exploring the nearby area today, so it’s go go go. We’ll take a tour of the entire island.

Let’s start with the Chocolate Hills, so someone call Willy Wonka! The region resembles something from a fairy tale, with each hill resembling a tiny truffle. What’s even more amazing is that the island’s residents are still mostly unaware of this landscape!

Nature has now been satisfied, therefore it is only fitting that we also spotted some wildlife. Do you know what a Tarsier is? We’ll discover how the locals are ensuring that the population of these adorable primates, which are endangered, keeps increasing.

We’ll take a river cruise to round off this amazing day before going to plant some trees and support a neighbourhood project that aims to preserve Bohol’s distinctive biodiversity.

You’ve been dreaming of a complete beach day ever since you learnt about the Philippines. When we get there, we’ll have towels and be prepared to brave the waves—by which we mean, of course, leaping in them. After that, it’s time to start competing.

Prepare yourself for a full day of frisbee throwing and volleyball contests, all while sipping beer or piña coladas. On our last night in Bohol, we will then take in another breathtaking Filipino sunset on the shore. We are travelling to our favourite location in the Philippines tomorrow.

Siargao is on the horizon! The best place to visit in Southeast Asia is this teardrop island! The Philippines is known as the surf capitol, and we are eager to get to paradise. We’ll fly and take a ferry to Siargao, but we promise that the trip is well worth it! We will have time to unpack, tour the neighbourhood, and experience Siargao’s beauty for the first time once we get there.

People, there are chakras in the air! Coming all the way to the surf capital and not jumping at the chance to ride the famed waves would be really impolite. We are fortunate to have some extremely understanding teachers who are prepared to teach us how to navigate the sea and get us started on the boards. Although we cannot promise that you will be able to stand for more than five seconds, we can assure you that you will have an incredible time learning a brand-new skill in the company of the most encouraging people.

We should treat ourselves to a few hours at the beach after learning how to surf, or at least trying. Take a swim, play more volleyball, or read a book—you have the afternoon to do as you wish!

Morning meal

We’re not sobbing, but you are—it’s our last full day of the trip! But we’re going out on a high note in true style! Prepare yourself for a day of snorkelling, island hopping, sunbathing, and spotting the most amazing marine life. You will be looking for Nemos, Dorys, and Gills (not Bruce, though, IYKYK) if you are anything like us.

Is there a better feeling than the sea breeze in your hair? It’s the perfect way to spend our final day in paradise. Obviously not! We will return to base to prepare for our last night out after touring the nearby islands and enjoying more sunshine!

It may be emotional, but keep in mind that you should be glad that it happened rather than sad that it’s over!
