“Happy Datang, Bali! That’s Indonesian for “Welcome to Bali.” Today you will be picked up from Denpasar airport, where our driver will meet you and escort you to our hotel in Canggu. There, you’ll meet your group leader, who will show you around and give you all the pro tips about Bali. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the pool, use the gym, hang by the beach, or simply head out to explore Canggu itself. In the evening, we will all get together for a group welcome dinner and drinks so we can get acquainted.
After getting to know your group, it’s time to adjust to Balinese culture. The magnificent Tanah Lot temple, which is situated atop striking seaside rock formations, will be our first stop. After touring this wonder, with the assistance of our fantastic surf instructors, we’ll embrace our inner surfers and ride some waves. They’ll have you standing up in no time! We’ll then meet for sunset, with a cold drink in hand, to enjoy the first of many epic sunsets! Then it’s time to experience the famous Canggu nightlife!
Afterward, Paradise! Nusa Lembongan, another name for this island, is the first of many that await our footprints. After checking into our gorgeous beachfront lodging, we’ll explore Dream Beach—which, to be honest, lives up to its name! Before heading to Devil’s Tears, a fantastic tide pool where we can watch the sunset while the waves roar over the rocky coves, we’ll unwind and work on our tans. Once back to the hotel, we’ll dine on the beachfront and then sit under the stars as we share stories around the warm glow of a beach bonfire.
On our way to Nusa Penida! Snorkeling around the islands will be our first activity. We’ll visit the well-known Manta Point, weather permitting, to see—you guessed it—manta rays! Once on land, we’ll visit a truly special and unique temple, Pura Goa Giri Putri. After squeezing through the secret entrance, we’ll be amazed at the underground network of temples hidden within the caves. Then we’ll go to the famously stunning Atuh and Diamond Beach and finish on Kelingking Beach. Make sure you charge your phones—you’ll be taking a lot of pictures!
To explore Ubud, Bali’s cultural center, we’ll return there today. ‘Eat Pray Love’ comes to mind? Well, this is where the love happens, and we know you’re going to love it here! Once we arrive, we’ll have time to enjoy our beautiful accommodation before getting to know the local residents…the monkeys! We’ll meander through the Sacred Monkey Forest, marveling at the ancient temples within, and we’ll be able to get up close and personal with the monkeys. If you’re feeling brave, you can even grab a selfie with them!
We’ll get a caffeine fix this morning at one of the nearby coffee plantations and discover why their coffee is the priciest in the world. You may be surprised, but that’s just how they brew it! Afterwards, it’s Lights. Camera. Swing. Welcome to the home of the famous Bali Swings and picture-perfect rice terraces. We’ll wander through the emerald green, enjoy some lunch and a coconut, and spend the afternoon soaking in the scenery from beautiful infinity pools that overlook the terraces.
Back to school is coming, so get your books and pens ready! For a special chance to interact with the kids, we’ll go to a nearby elementary school. There we can play and let them practice their English. Then we’ll cool off with a quick dip in one of Bali’s most famous waterfalls as well as one of our hidden gems. Afterwards, explore the streets and your wallets at the local markets. You’re guaranteed to pick up some presents for friends, family, or even just a treat for yourself. Sadly, it may be the last evening for some, so we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and celebrate the best trip of your life!
It’s time to bid farewell to those departing, but for the groupies who are still here, hold on tight as we travel to the stunning Gili Islands! Take this time to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet here in Gili Trawangan…well…during the daytime anyway! There are no cars or scooters, just the sound of the ocean, so enjoy some much-needed R&R. Then saddle up and get on your bike! We’ll stop to watch the sunset from the best spot on the island, and you can take turns posing on the famous Gili Swing. Then it’s time to dress up and get your groove on, island style!
We’ll visit some of Indonesia’s top snorkeling locations today! You can see beautiful coral, underwater statues, and the reason we are all here—turtles—as soon as you step off the boat! We can also assist in setting up a PADI dive if you wish to go deeper so you can truly get up close and personal! Before returning for dinner, where we’ll feast on some local cuisine and the day’s catch at the renowned Night Markets, we’ll pause for lunch in Gili Meno and have time to explore the island. Good!
No alarms and nowhere to be this morning! That is the main goal! Take advantage of your free time to relax by the pool, read a good book, or take a long nap! We will have our own cooking class for dinner, giving us the opportunity to experience the local cuisine up close. With professional assistance from beginning to end, we will learn how to prepare classic sweet and savory dishes, but the best part? You can eat everything you’ve made! Taste! Once we’ve devoured all that deliciousness, we’ll have time to catch some rays before we see what’s on tonight in Gili T!
We’ll drive south to Kuta after a quick boat ride to Lombok today. This place is undoubtedly more relaxed, which could be a pleasant diversion from Gili T’s party culture! We will therefore be able to recover from our hangovers and enjoy our gorgeous lodging and Lombok’s secrets over the coming days.
We will first see Benang Stokel, a twin waterfall that is 30 meters high, at the base of Mount Rinjani before continuing on to our lodging. Then came Benang Kelambu, a stunning veil of water that poured directly from the lush vegetation! As we set out into the heart of the Lombok jungle, this one is for all of you waterfall enthusiasts.
Following breakfast, we will have a unique opportunity to observe the way of life of the Sasak tribe in the area. We’ll become fully immersed in the old community and discover all of their customs. We’ll have our last meal and drinks together when we get back.…I’m not crying, you are!
During our most recent breakfast together, let’s reflect on all the enjoyable moments. You will have lifelong memories even after the trip is over. Whatever your next course of action, you can talk to our knowledgeable Group Leaders about any future travel plans you may have or are interested in. 13 Days at Wanderlands Bali & Lombok. The schedule had plenty of time for activities, dining, unwinding, and meeting other tourists.
The tour was expertly planned, and we accomplished a lot of amazing things. The 13-day Wanderlands Bali & Lombok tour was my favourite portion of the trip.
